Now For Some FUN!
I would be remiss if we didn’t add this section to our site for you. All of the work of planting and nurturing your garden during the growing season is all for nothing if you aren’t prepared to properly preserve the fruits of your labor.
But with that being said, I would also be remiss if I didn’t add the fact that while we will be discussing those age-old, tried and true methods our grandmas used, we will also be looking at other methods of preserving, canning items that you didn’t grow and more.
The two types of canning I’ll be focusing on will be pressure canning and water bath canning and we will get more into detail with both methods elsewhere.
As you go through this section, I will welcome your comments and thoughts on your experience with canning. Do you have a favorite method? Maybe your pressure canner is one of your best buddies in the kitchen and you can’t live without it? Please feel free to share.
One last thing – there are several schools of thought on canning/preserving foods. I’m not going to pretend to be an expert on any one side of the fence. I am merely sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained in hopes it may help you somewhere along the road.
